Welcome to Weir Farm

Set across the Marlborough Downs, the 1,500 acres of the Weir Farm have been home to the Hussey family for three generations.

We’re an arable farm specialising in producing performance-quality haylage and hay for racehorse stables and event yards across Wiltshire.

Weir Farm is within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and our farming is environmentally sensitive to our unique surroundings.

Haylage and hay

Our haylage is high nutrient and high fibre - ideal for competition horses. It’s a great way of feeding quality, dust-free foliage.

Our hay is cut from temporary grass and long established meadows, high in natural stores of vitamin A and E.

“The Weir Farm has provided my large, professional, competition yard with haylage and hay for many years. The quality is always outstanding and the team are efficient, friendly and extremely helpful. I wouldn't go anywhere else.”

Weir Farm Wildlife

As farmers we know that everything we do has an impact on the environment.

But we’re also uniquely placed to make a big difference.

Through our conservation projects, we’ve seen our farmland become a haven for at-risk species including Tree Sparrow, Yellowhammer, Corn Bunting and Skylarks.

Our farming philosophy

The Hussey family have been farming the land at the Weir Farm since 1907.

We’re committed to environmentally sensitive farming, whilst ensuring the long-term future of the Weir as a working farm.

“We’ve been using Weir Farm’s hay and haylage at Beckhampton Stables for over four years, and I believe our results to a certain extent reflect this. We’re training nearly 100 flat horses and it's imperative that we use haylage that’s consistently to our standards.”
